FAMILIES AND FRIENDS

With the client’s agreement we actively encourage family, friends and representatives to be as involved as possible in the lives of clients and in the day to day running of our home. Phones and ipads for contacting family and friends are available and clients can entertain visitors in outdoor areas or in the privacy of their room. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time of the day or evening and are now encouraged sit in the garden and enjoy being with their friend or relative. Diane will make all the appropriate arrangements.

We will support clients who find it difficult to maintain contact or visit family and friends.

Staff are available to help with phone calls, letters, e-mails, Zoom and Facebook or to accompany clients during visits and to provide transport if necessary.

We place considerable emphasis on communication and we value the opinions and input from friends and family. We have regular updates on our Facebook page that is open to parents and relatives. We hold informal family and relative days, when family and friends are informed about our activities and have the opportunity to contribute ideas to the running of the organisation.

At the invitation of clients, friends and relatives are encouraged to attend appointments, yearly reviews, (supported by Zoom, Teams etc.) and to participate in the process of care planning and surveys. The Conifers actively encourage and support relatives to form an inter-supportive group network.
