Welcome to The Conifers: Pioneering Person-Centred Support for Individuals with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs

At The Conifers, we are proud to offer an innovative and person-centred approach to supporting individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, and some physical disabilities. Our newly designed facility specialises in providing a safe, nurturing environment for clients who may also be on the autism spectrum or have mental health needs or need end of life care.

A Unique Blend of Independence and Support

We empower our clients to live as independently as possible in their own bespoke living spaces, without compromising their safety or privacy. Each client enjoys a purpose-built, private flat - complete with a kitchen/dining area, lounge, bedroom, bathroom, and personal garden - designed to promote dignity and autonomy.

Tailored Care in a Registered Setting

Every client is supported by their own dedicated, highly trained staff member (on a 1:1 basis), ensuring care is tailored to their individual needs and ambitions. Additional staff are available to provide relief and extra support as required, all within the security of our fully staffed, CQC-registered home.

Registered and Trusted

Our service is registered with the Essex County Council Complex Residential Framework, with placements also made by the Community Health Team Colchester. The flats are fully compliant and registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Community and Wellbeing

While the design focus has been on privacy and independence, our clients have also enjoyed opportunities for social engagement. Notably, they participated enthusiastically in our Summer Family Day, interacting with other residents and their families and becoming a valued part of our community.
