The Conifers hope to be offering in the very near future a pioneering approach to supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and some physical disabilities. Our clients may have a learning disability and may be on the autism spectrum; they may also have some mental health needs. We will support them to live as independently as possible in their own personal space without compromising their safety, personal space or the personal space of others.

Within our registered home environment, we will offer two individually designed, independent flats in which clients can enjoy a unique and personal service built exclusively around their needs and wishes with as much or little support as required within the wider security and support offered by a fully staffed registered home.

Each client will have their own new build flat with a kitchen/dining room, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom and private garden. They will have allocated staff members whose training reflects the client’s particular needs. Further staff support is available to provide relief for allocated personal staff and support as and when required. Within this environment we are often able to support clients with 1:1 staffing with only an occasional use of 2:1 staffing for external visits if appropriate. This approach is made possible by the existence of the wider support network within the registered home. Building works are now nearing completion and we require a further registration from CQC to be able to commence with delivering this much needed care and service.
